I was prescribed this drug to prevent crystals from forming in my body due to diabetes Mellitus Type 1 Insulin dependent for over 30 years. I might add I never once had gout in my entire life and was not taking it for gout.

After taking the drug for approximately 3 months and routinely having a 1.4 H2 creatinine level upon doctor visits for over 10 years, all of a sudden after taking the Uloric my creatinine levels went up to 3.6 H2 and Bun level rose to 57 H2. I had trouble urinating during the day but at bed time I got up no less then 8 times a night to urinate. Obviously there is a problem with this drug and me. Kidney Sonogram showed my Kidneys to be red and irritated.

I stopped taking Uloric and after a few days things were back to normal. Regular urination returned.

I would watch this drug folks. 13 people have already suffered Kidney failure from it and those are just the ones who reported to the FDA and it acts very quickly to harm them. I do not know if my kidneys will ever recover completely, one can only hope.
