silhouett : Can not use product since re-installed software.
I recently re-installed windows 7 on the machine I use hmonitor on. When I went to use the hmonitor software I entered my key code and it said it was not for this machine. I wrote an email to support@hmonitor.com and that is when the real problem came in. The gentleman that I delt with told me I needed to use the email I used with my paypal account and no further emails would be accepted from this one. I then wrote using the email I use at paypal and the same man told me I needed to send my info to register@hmonitor.com which I then did but the mail server bounced it saying it was invalid. I wrote the support again and was told they could not help me with my mail server. I wrote and explained it was their mail server that rejected the mail and they wrote back saying
Until you follow my instructions, can't help you, sorry. I explained How I had followed instructions and that they were being rude and they replied Really??? Well, i have nothing to add then... ;-)
I told them this was very poor customer service.
At which I discovered they had ban my email server from sending them emails at all ?
I now own hmonitor but can not use it for the machine I purchased it for. I can not get support and
feel this company is extremely unprofessional
jonathanG : hmonitor builder Alexander Berezkin, of AB Software, disregards their own licensing
I would not purchase the software.
The maker of hmonitor, Alexander Berezkin, of AB Software, PO box 101, New York, New York 10008 has built into the software a mechanism that disables it.
In my case, I purchased a license, unlocked it, used the software for two and a half years until a windows update (I use win 7) came along.
The software disabling mechanism will not allow me run the software anymore as a result.
Alexander of hmonitor has stated that I need to purchase a new license. Evidently, he does not understand his own licence terms which state:
"Purchasing a license key is not a sale of the software but of your right to use the software."
In my case, my right to use the software has now been terminated.
My thoughts are that this amounts to theft.
If one builds a disabling mechanism into their software, they need to be prepared to unlock the customers software when that
mechanism locks the software for whatever reason. Otherwise, do not build a disabling mechanism into it.
Alexander Berezkin told me:
"Sorry, version 4.4 you have is obsolete now and not supported anymore.
Besides, your support period (with free upgrades) was closed along ago, and you have ignored my reminder about renew it.
So, now you need to buy new license first, and then keep order confirmation letter in safe place..."
So, based on this comment from hmonitor, if you do not renew his support offer, your license somehow can be terminated ..
This too is not a part of the license to the software that I purchased.
I did later look up my pay-pal transaction id, which was his first "reason" to deny me service.
After that it was because I did not renew some support offer.
In my opinion, it is dishonest of hmonitor and Alexander Berezkin to build a disabling mechanism into software and then to claim that I no longer have the right that my purchase gives me when it triggers, to use that software.
I bought Hmonitor for my computer, and then i had to reinstall Windows. Now i cant register Hmonitor anymore (used for two weeks)When i try to register i get no response. When I write to support i get no answer. This is theft in my opinion. Never do business whith that company!
