I would like to share with you an incident that occurred last Monday, August 29,2011. It involves my brother (a patient), who is terminally ill with brain cancer, Memorial Herman Southeast Hospital, his primary care doctor (at the time), myself and parents.

I have my brothers' power of attorney and have been at his side taking care of him, feeding him changing him, bathing him, etc. for the last two and a half years. I'm also taking care of my parents who are both almost eighty. I have been forbidden by hospital administration to enter the premises. This due to words that I had with the doctor.

I'm trying to expose, not only the doctor, but also the hospital for the pain and suffering they continue to inflict on myself and family. The emotional distress that they continue to reap is beyond belief. I MUST EXPOSE THEM!!! People need to know how they treat their patients and family members!

I can go inside the hospital to meet with social workers, but I cannot go to my brothers' room to his aide. He is unable to communicate and his blood pressure is up because he knows I am not able to be there beside him. My mother was having chest pains, went to the ER, was going to be admitted, but she refused treatment due to me not being able to come help my brother in her place. She is literally putting her life in danger for her son and I am not able to help him or my family.

I urge you to reconsider using this facility or the doctors affiliated with SE Memorial. They have no compassion and do not take the family's wellfare into consideration!!! The doctor involved is Dr. MICHAEL WARNEKE M.D. (STAY AWAY FROM THIS MAN)!! The administration CEO Erin Aspreck is also a LIAR! She promised to help resolve the situation and never delivered. Todd Adams (Case Manager) expects me to comply with him in what they have suggested as far as getting my brother discharged. But will not comply with me wanting to be able to be there for my brother in his time of need. What has already been an extremely dire situation for the last 2 1/2 years has been made even more complicated by this doctor, hospital and staff.

Statements made by Warneke in front of my brother were: "it doesn't matter what you do for him, he's gonna die anyway." "he's a lost cause". If my mother was reading her bible and praying, he would say "I know what you're hoping for, but it ain't gonna happen". We were accused of being selfish for keeping him alive, keeping in mind he was a normal person breathing on his own, not hooked up to any machines. He referred to us as "you people" never addressed us by our names. He accused us of feeling guilty for some reason. When I approached him in the hallway, he was aware that us, being Christian, made the remark of "maybe God is just telling us to let him go". All this said with no compassion or concern or care for the situation. I had finally heard enough and told him what an evil person he really is. I was banned, while he continues to bring more misery to other patients. I am convinced that through his treatment, he was trying to bring my brother to a sooner demise. This being realized after having a new physician on my brothers case and him ordering tests that we used to beg the former doctor to do. From day one, his behavior and attitude conveyed that he didn't want to be involved with treating my brother. He seemed put out the whole time. I will always take responsibility for not requesting a change of physicians. My brother has had to suffer meaninglessly.

Bottom line is, if you're unhappy with your physician or his care and you express it to the physician in an aggressive manner as I did, then they ban you from the hospital despite the situation. I did make a hateful remark to the doctor, "I better not see you outside this facility". So for speaking my mind and protecting my family, I got banned from this hospital. After much biting of my tongue, and trying to give as much respect as possible to someone who doesn't know the meaning of RESPECT, I am kept from being allowed to care for my brother who is already suffering with a terminally ill disease.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make this known to as many people as possible!!! Spread the word about this physician and administration. This hospital needs to be shut down if they continue to treat others as they did our family.
